Opening Ceremony
Thursday February 5th 4:30 p.m.
Help us kick-off the 58th Annual Cooperstown Winter Carnival with hot cocoa and fireworks at The Otesaga Resort Hotel. Enjoy the celebration with remarks from Mayor Ellen Tillapaugh, a visit from the famous snow princesses, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the night!
Events on Thursday, February 5th
Thursday kicks off the Winter Carnival with the Village Library’s weekend-long book sale, the main event: hot cocoa and fireworks, plus and family-friendly bingo fun!

Events on Friday, February 6th
Friday ramps up the Winter Carnival excitement! Kids can dive into a colorful art show, take on bowling, rock climbing, and free throw challenges. The evening starts with the Official Trivia Contest, then sip and savor wine and spirit tastings—or grab the mic and shine at karaoke. Feeling brave? Head to the National Baseball Hall of Fame for an after-dark ghost tour! Cap off the night with musical bingo and an incredible night of live music featuring the Cooperstown Concert Series and the beloved Scattered Flurries!

Events on Saturday, February 7th
Saturday is the biggest day of Winter Carnival fun—packed with activities for all ages! Start your morning with a hearty pancake breakfast, browse treasures at the Village Library book sale, and meet amazing animals from the Utica Zoo. Admire stunning quilts at the Fenimore Quilt Show, enjoy a special performance by the Fenimore Chamber Orchestra, and meet local heroes at the fire station. Warm up at the Cooperstown Beverage Exchange, where you can grab your Winter Carnival pin and a balloon animal!
The Saturday Farmers’ Market will feature local farmers, markets and artisans, a kids’ scavenger hunt, and live music to keep the energy flowing. Don't miss Rotary's Frosty Fling with over 25 artisans and craft vendors and a silent auction.

Step outside for classic winter fun: ice skating, sledding, and the 53rd Bob Smullens 5K/10K run. Test your strength with a winter classic frying pan toss or swing for the fences in the home run derby. Don’t forget to enter your best recipe in the chili contest!
As evening falls, enjoy a family movie with special guests from the SPCA, a teen dance, and a show-stopping doubleheader of live music from the Cooperstown Concert Series.

Start your morning with a hearty pancake breakfast, then put that energy to good use with pickleball, a benefit ride, or geocaching at Pioneer Park. Don’t miss the Closing Ceremony—the Winter Carnival Fan Fest—packed with family fun and festivities. Finally, gear up for the big game with Bloody Marys and comfort food at Northway Brewing Hop House!
